Effective 13 October 2026
Privacy policy
LATEWIRE is a public trend desk with an optional $12 monthly membership. This policy says what information the site handles, what it does not, and how to reach the person who runs it.
Who this is
LATEWIRE is operated from Tennessee, in the United States. The contact for privacy requests is meek3kee2heat1@gmail.com.
This policy covers latewire.org and the same site on any temporary publish address.
Information you give us
You can read the briefings without an account and without giving a name.
- If you write the desk, we store the name, email address, and message you type, plus any reply, so the note can be answered.
- If you pay for membership, you type your payment details into Stripe, not into LATEWIRE. We may later write down a name and email in a private member list after a payment, so we know who to answer.
- Studio checklists, a membership reminder, and talk replies you add stay in storage on your device. They are not sent to the desk as an account.
Information collected automatically
On each visit the site stores a random visitor code in your browser and sends that code with the page address and the date. The code is not your name. It is used to count people and pages, once per page per day.
A tap on Subscribe is counted as a tap. That count does not include your card, your name, or whether Stripe completed the charge.
The host of the site and your browser also create ordinary connection logs, such as an IP address and the time of a request. Those logs are used to run and protect the site.
Payment information
Membership is billed by Stripe. Stripe receives your card or other payment method, billing details, and the subscription record. LATEWIRE does not store your card number or security code. Stripe’s own policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
How information is used
- To publish the desk, count visits, and see which card, video, or trend article a visit or a share came from.
- To take membership payments through Stripe, and to cancel or answer questions about them.
- To read and reply to messages sent from the site.
- To keep the site secure and to meet a legal duty, such as a valid request from a court.
We do not use this information to build advertising profiles. We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Who can see it
Public briefings do not include your message, your email, or your visitor code.
Visit counts, subscribe taps, messages, and the private member list are visible only to the operator of LATEWIRE. Stripe can see the payment record. The company that hosts the site can process the data needed to serve the pages. We do not give the list to other desks, data brokers, or advertisers.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to prevent fraud or abuse of the site.
Storage on your device
The site uses browser storage, not advertising cookies. One key remembers the random visitor code. Another remembers studio progress and any membership reminder on that device. You can clear them in your browser settings. Clearing them does not cancel a Stripe subscription.
How long it is kept
Messages are kept long enough to answer them and to keep a record of the reply. Visit rows are kept so the desk can see daily and monthly counts. A member note is kept while the membership matters and for a short period after it ends. You may ask us to delete a message or a member note sooner, unless we must keep it for a legal reason or an unresolved payment dispute.
Your requests
Email meek3kee2heat1@gmail.com to ask for a copy of the message or member note we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We may need enough detail to find the right record and to be sure the request is yours.
You may also stop using the site and clear browser storage at any time. Canceling the $12.00 monthly charge is described in the subscription terms.
California residents
If you live in California, you may ask us to tell you the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected about you, to correct inaccurate information, and to delete it, subject to legal exceptions. You may not be discriminated against for making a request.
LATEWIRE does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not respond to browser “do not track” signals because we do not track you across other companies’ sites.
An authorized agent may submit a request with proof that you allowed it. We will confirm a deletion or access request with you when that is reasonable.
Children
LATEWIRE is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Membership is for adults. If you believe a child sent us a message, email us and we will delete it.
Security and other countries
We use ordinary access limits so the public site does not show private messages or visit lists. No website can promise perfect security.
If you use the site from outside the United States, your information is processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from the laws where you live.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after that date means the new policy applies. A change to how we use an email you gave us for a new purpose will be explained here before we do it.
